Seattle Supercross 2013
The Seattle Supercross was a little bit cold and damp. You know Washington weather. I got there about 10:30 AM with my 17 year old nephew Logan who made me late by him sleeping in late. We got our brand NEW tent from Pro Wheel Racing and Gary Carter that you can see from the pictures and boy did it stand out in a good way. We were only told the night before that we would be parked in the main pits, and not outside. The tent was all in boxes and was very easy to put together and stand up. The Washington green color stood out against all the black pop up tents and black monster trailers. The orange KTM trailer also stood out, but doesn't International orange always stand out?
We were parked right next to the Legends and Heroes with co founder Mike Owens and local good guy Dallas Nyblod, who essentially set up all the bikes and the display. Dallas also convinced L & H that Pat Jacobson should be honored and he was. We were in a prime spot, but we mostly got people looking at Tom McAllister's 1976 DG 125 bike with kids amazed about these things called "Drum Brakes", and air cooling and down pipes. What are these strange beasts from another planet. Started raining about 3:30 PM and the tent became very popular and my back pack got soaked laying on the ground. There were a lot of Looky Lou's, but no real buyers, but we knew that coming in. The way of promotion so that next time people will say that I remember you being at the Supercross. The Supercross brings out the majority of Monster Truck fans who have never seen an outdoor MX race. They have a history of racing the breadth of a mosquito wing. Next time we will be at the new AMA National 1/2 mile race in Elma in late July where we will hopefully get a more educated crowd.

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, proclaiming, WOW-WHAT A RIDE" Hunter S. Thompson
